Pre approved pre denied

I got a copy of this recently ( I already have the new DnC album too) Love them both. Seriousy good music. We are all so happy for all of you!
What I do not understand is why there has not been a real hard PUSH to get Pre Approved out in greater numbers. It is a VERY good album. I am really captivated by it. It is kind of saddening to me that the general public (no not you who may be reading this) only seems to get the DnC side of the band (not to knock it because I am happy for the band and admit freely that I love that too)and is overlooking a whole different perspective from KK. We are lucky to be able to enjoy both sides of the coin I guess.
Anyhow, great job KK! Keep it up please. My whole family (me, the wife and two young children) just really, really love this new record and I am scratching my head as to why there is not a lot more interest in it. The version of She (DNC) is just too cool ( I love the way that you keep giving note suggestions to hold the instumentation in line ) and while I have heard Yankee Truck driver blues in a less finished version over the years (Most memorably at Smith's with Tom Clark), I love what the completed version does for me. Your vocals are very captivating and the timbre is right in the pocket with the song. I certainly "get it". Actually, all of the songs are just simply spot on. The spoken word as well. I know that these records mean a lot to you and they are significant to us as well.
I feel much the same way about the New DnC album too. It just seems the solo stuff seems to get the shorter end of the stick when that should not at all be the case. I love them both but with all of the chatter on the other board about the DnC album, I wanted to be sure to give Kevn his kudos over here where it is also richly deserved. I suspect that the solo work is more of his release and those of us that are interested get to benefit as well.
Thanks again KK!

Geoff: You definitely hit the nail on the head with your review! Yankee Truckdriver Blues is my favorite song on the entire album. I am waiting patiently to get it at an upcoming solo gig. Hope to see ya at Criminal Records & Smith's on the 29th.

Sorry R,
I will not be able to make it to the Smith's show. Will be down in Thomasville keeping a lid on things. But, I will be there in spirit. I suspect you will be in the front lines enjoying yourself as always!. Give me a moments thought if you will. I do wish that I could be there.
Enjoy,
G

As far as I can tell, the CD was available at only a few live shows starting at the end of last year. Kevn had about 30 copies for sale at the end of year Icehouse show and some more at Theater Rhino in San Fran in June. He has mentioned a couple of times since that he was going to possibly remaster and then re-release it. With the new DnC album just out and his talk of a new "heavy" folk album in progress, I suspect PA-PD may have been put on a back burner.

I like a few songs off the album ("Catching Up to Myself," "Southwestern State," "Song for Me"), and I enjoyed listening to the spoken word part (once). Its concept (as a sort of sketch book) is inherently its weakness, for me anyhow. I'd prefer to see him wait a while and deliver an album of finished songs, recorded in a coherent fashion.

That's just me, though. I'm probably a little selfish and spoiled by the new dnc--I'd like more than a collection of demos. The afore-mentioned songs are strong, I think. Looking forward to seeing them available to the public.
