FLAC vs. ZIP

Is there any difference in sound quality between a FLAC file and a ZIP file?

No, they're both lossless (along with SHN). But the FLAC will be much smaller since it's tuned to exploit common situations that occur with audio, whereas ZIP will work better for arbitrary data.
