No DNC No Kevn Kinney dates on West Coast

The date's firm. Carlton and I are still talking about time (it'll be an evening show), and various final paperwork should be done Tuesday or Wednesday. There'll be an announcement here when it's all set. Late this week?

Here was may day today...

I go get a haircut. My friend who cuts my hair says, "hey, Kevn Kinney is coming to town". My eyes widened, and I asked, "when?". Just as I ask, her co-worker says, "that was last night... at Dante's." We talked about seeing him many years back at St Johns. Great show, as apparently anyone and everyone who saw it seems to testify.

The thing is, I had just checked the KK website earlier yesterday morning. No mention of a Portland show. My Space... nothing. I saw the listing for the Urban School show in SF.

I give up. It isn't worth the effort any more to check in every week or so in hopes of a show only to get screwed because it was unannounced. It would have been nice to know. I didn't think I would have to dig around. That is what a website is for... you know, "Tour Dates".

Yes, it was Richmond Fontaine... but with Peter Buck of REM. Salt in the wound... SALT I tell ya!

Yeah, I think the Truckstop South dates still aren't posted anywhere even though they've been firm for over a week (and we're less than a month away). You really have to dig MUCH more than you should to find dates.

I've offered several times to maintain an authoritative (and complete) list, but I just can't get the feeds myself either.

Agree on the date thing. You really need to search here on the msg board and it still isn't reliable.

Anyway, the show kicked ass last night. Got to talk with Kevn a bit before the show and after he played. Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey showing up to play were an extra added bonus! My only gripe was that he didn't play more (I know he was the opener).

I finally picked up Comin' Round Again, Pre-Approved/Pre-Denied and the funky Greenpoint Garage disc. Kudos to Kevn's Merch guy (forget his name), got to talk to him and he's a cool guy too.

Great meeting you Kevn....you need to play the West Coast more often. The house was packed last night with a the majority of the crowd there to see you.

If it is the same guy that also sells merch at all of the DNC shows, his name his Todd. I believe he hasn't posted on here yet. On the DNC message board, his name is mongoose_teddy. He is a VERY cool guy!
